Yung Gutted – Internet Graveyard III

New York underground rap/production is getting very heavy and Yung Gutted is leading the way with a torch in his hand. The release of the 3rd installment of his Internet Graveyard collection continues to punish your speakers and push the boundaries of bass heavy beats. Gutted holds nothing back this time enlisting Topprraaa and CZARQUAN of Jaguar Pyramids, Wiki of Ratking and Carlos Hernandez of Ava Luna to add vocal textures over his production while showcasing he truly knows how to stay dirty. I highly encourage you to go out and purchase a subwoofer at a store near you for yourself but also to capture the raw power of his ear because Hernandez will not be slowing down anytime soon. The web is full of tombstones and Gutted is responsible for a vast majority of them.

RIP Yung Gutted

Yung Gutted – Intenet Graveyard III

New York’s underground rap scene is grimier than ever which is showcased through the development of the new rap group JAGUAR PYRAMIDS. JAGUAR PYRAMIDS consists of Czarquan,Topprraaa and Yung Gutted who have all associated themselves with the darker, hard hitting side of rap for awhile now. Their self-titled debut is brutal, heavy and consistently guides you through growls and 808s unmatched by a lot of the scene. With “Fill Em In” JAGUAR PYRAMIDS is joined by Wiki of Ratking who dropped 700 Fill earlier this year which although is an album cut from a similar fabric 700 Fill a little more dreamy than JAGUAR PYRAMIDS. Yung Gutted is a producer that’s been on the rise for about 3 years now and has not pulled the reigns in on his flattening production. The man seems to be set on blowing as many speakers that aren’t ready for him as he can and is doing an incredible job at it. This new collaboration is put together very well and worth is worth the purchase on their bandcamp. New York is definitely not dead.

WIKI – Lil Me

NYC rapper Wiki of the trio RATKING dropped his first solo mixtape entitled “Lil Me” yesterday, which comes nearly three years after putting out his debut solo EP 1993. The 18 track tape dominantly features production from RATKING’s Sporting Life with guest producers Madlib, Kaytranada, Sykwlkr, Harry Fraud and many more. The tape is also littered with awesome guest verses from the likes of Skepta, Antwon, RATKING’s Hak, and Jesse James Solomon. Lil Me is at times as punk as much of RATKING’s music but mostly forms its own soulful core. The production stands out on this tape, but it’s impossible to say it does more so than Wiki’s seamlessly effortless rapping. At just 22 years old, the Irish/Puerto Rican grit king from Manhattan has seemed to have mastered the art of spitting fat rhymes through his character fitting busted front teeth. The widely overlooked RATKING debut So It Goes features tons of material old heads would cream to, so feel free to get one to shut up by showing them that or Lil Me. Wiki may not be one of the best rappers out (though I would disagree), but he’s making better music than a lot of the others people would place in front of him.

Yung Gutted- Wide Body Ft. Face Vega

Granted, Face Vega (1/2 Gorgeous Children) is my favorite rapper but beyond that it is easy to see why Yung Gutted chose him to ride this arcane almost Panda Bear-esque hip hop beat complete with vague illusions to Beach Boys (at least to my ears). The best news is that you can download the album this song appears on, Yung Gutted ‘Towers 2’ EP, free via WeTransfer.

Yung Gutted x Wiki – Facts

Secret Songs, a new label project from Ryan Hemsworth, dropped a free mixtape today containing this lil’ gem from Ratking’s Wiki and Brooklyn producer Yung Gutted.

Side note: this gets me REAL excited because punk band and Odd Future affiliate Trash Talk is coming to town in April and bringing along Ratking. Seriously advising everyone not to miss that.

Yung Gutted – Towers EP

Earnest Endeavors put out this new Yung Gutted EP today. When I spoke to him briefly about the project he informed me that he is going the more lo-fi route, sampling only VHS and cassette with an MPC and then recording from the MPC straight to tape. While this EP is a large departure from his previously more trap and heavy metal influenced tapes, his creativity and  craftsmanship shine through, seemingly transcending genres.

Another Friday the 13th gem. This STYLSS affiliate’s project feels like death in the best way possible. Spooooky.   :ghost:

“Slumber” samples “Freddy’s Coming For You” off of A Nightmare On Elm Street, while “End of the World” samples Skeeter Davis’s original. All slowed down and extra creepified. Features include Gabe Nandez & Acemo, among others. ~Vry rare~ cassette tape available for purchase. :skull: :syringe: :imp: Shouts outs to the Lil Ugly Mane samples on track 4 killing shit.
