Sampling and more recently remixing have been a big part of the rap game, can you tell us a little about your production methods and how you got into making music?
I agree 100%, although there seems to be 2 versions of sampling that people do nowadays.
- Taking whole 4 or 8 bar samples and slapping drums on it then calling it a track
- Actually making the samples sound different from the original track, I can’t explain what i’m trying to type but you just get some people that get credited too much when in reality they’re musically lazy and should feel bad.
If I’m honest I don’t really have any method of making music, I just go along with whatever sounds good that I’m making and usually end up with something moderately cool.
How do you manage your creative blocks?
Usually by just doing something completely different.
What do you think is the function of art in society?
The function of art in society has no real answer. Like to some people when they see that shit it makes them feel good. I guess it could also be a coping mechanism, for people who actually recognize it.
What was your favorite movie when you were growing up?
Hahaha I can’t name one but I have so many films that I thought were amazing growing up, to name a few… Universal Soldier, Waterworld, Hackers, Fight Club, Silence of the Lambs.

What is the most meaningful interaction you’ve had with a fan of your music?
An Icelandic rapper named Gaukur(GKR) approached me years ago that was a fan and wanted to buy beats, we got along really well musically and he just became a great friend and motivator. After some time I flew out to Iceland last Feb and spent the coolest 2 weeks there (no pun) making music and hanging out with amazing people.
Definitely follow him.
