Yesterday, London based singer TALA shared the latest single off her upcoming MALIKA EP entitled “Enta Ayez”. The song features two Egyptian artists, Sadat and Alaa Fifty, and blends hip-hop with a traditional Egyptian street music style known as Sha’by. The song blends a new wave style of production with a classic feeling through its use of traditional Egyptian music, creating something extremely unique and catchy (fun fact: the track was recorded in Cairo). TALA’s voice sounds pure and clean while Sadat and Alaa Fifty belt intense lyrics in their native tongue to a rather grimy beat. If you’ve been paying as much attention to TALA as I have lately, you’d know that her EP MALIKA drops this October on Columbia Records. The projects features collaborations with London producer Mssingno and a track with BANKS. Definitely excited to see what TALA has in store for us.
