“I hope you know it’s okay
If you forget to remember me”
Rising rapper Kweku Collins joins forces with exceptional producers Stefan Ponce and Julian Bell for the beautiful single, “Delilah.” Kweku brings reggae inflected soul, swing and bars to the music rooted in lovely guitar playing by Julian Bell. “Delilah” premiered via The Fader, Kweku told them “It’s a continuation of a song I did a while back called ‘Lonely Lullabies.’ It’s about trying to let go of someone you love and still hold it down for them. Me and Ponce were in the studio and he started playing things he was working on. As soon as I heard the first few bars, I knew it was the one. Julian’s guitar is beautiful and Stefan’s drums compliment it perfectly.” Kweku recently signed with Closed Sessions, the partnership has already yielded top quality music in the form of his superb, Say It Here, While It’s Safe EP, and a string of dope singles including “Hoopti” and “Memorial.” “Delilah” is a love song that will keep you warm this winter, I look forward to more music from these three artists in 2016.
