“What if I make Illmatic and still don’t make it”. Doubts, we all have them, so when I was scrolling through my twitter and discovered this track (which is basically an exercise in desensitizing one to their own demons) I instantly connected. What makes fans hang on an artists every words? What takes their loyalty to ridiculous levels? Authenticity. An artist who reveals their real self gives the fans a privilege that probably no one else in the world has; bare, honest, thoughts. It’s pretty safe to assume Jazz Soul probably doesn’t go around spewing his insecurities when he’s with his friends or family or whomever he’s closest to so for him to make a track that is so honest it really means a lot more than a rapper talking about how godly he is. This track is as real as it gets and is an amazingly strong debut, we will be keeping our eyes on Jazz Soul, no doubt about it.
