Interview by Jack Kennedy
Whats life been like since moving home from LA ?
Life’s been a lot more chill since I moved back to Milwaukee from LA. I’m around people who actually give a fuck about me. You could die in LA and no one around you would care. I’ve just been eating a lot of takeout, making music, going to shows, and hanging out with homies. Super chill over here.
I noticed your latest beat tape is called “lugubrious” , would you care to speak on Ugly Mane and his influence on you as a whole and as a producer ?
Yeah i didn’t know of the word “lugubrious” until i listened to Lil Ugly Mane. then i looked up what it actually meant and was like yup, this is me a lot of the time. Just sad. I was getting extremely depressed in LA and I made a lot of these beats right when I got back from LA so I figured it’d be right to title it that. I’m trying to not be sad, but yeah Lil Ugly Mane is a legend and i loved everything he made. He’s definitely an inspiration.
If you could work with anyone who would it be?
i’d love to work with Clams Casino someday. Even if that meant me sitting in on a session of him just making beats. He was the main reason I wanted to start making beats.Aas far as rappers, probably like Future or Makonnen.
How do you manage ennui?
I just try to keep busy and not get bored. If you’re bored, you’re doing something wrong.
How do you create meaningful experience in your life?
I try to create meaningful experience by creating positive environments in which my close friends and family can enjoy themselves in. I always wanna make people laugh and have a good time. That’s super important to me.
Do you think anything is absolute? If so, what?
The only thing that is absolute is that we are all going to die someday.
Nedarb Nagrom is an ex-Thraxxhouse producer currently operating out of Milwaukee. He has 22 projects up on his bandcamp. In the past year his favorite artists to work with have been Xavier Wulf, Black Kray and Zed Kenzo. He’s been around for a minute now; it’s safe to say he’ll be around for the next one too.
