“No shade, I’m all light
The other man, wouldn’t want to be him
Alakazam, I can show you magic
Play with my food even when I’m famished”
Hurt Everybody and Alex Wiley release another dynamic single, “Thanos (Dr. Evil).” It begins with a sample of Will Ferrell from The Other Guys stating “There is a darkness inside me, it wants to get out. It wants to walk around, it wants some walking around money.” Then Hurt Everybody’s Supa Bwe comes in sounding strong as hell as he welcomes you to his colosseum and raps “Close your eyes, I’m glo’ing too bright.” Alex Wiley enters at mid point with a very different sound, his vocals are warm in feel but he warns that he’s Dr. Evil when it comes to money. Carl anchors the song with the type of rich and full verse he’s known for. “Thanos (Dr. Evil)” was produced by Mulatto Beats and is particularly melodic and otherworldly sounding.
Catch Alex Wiley with Calez for a pop up shop and Village Party 2 listening event at Jugrnaut on Saturday, August 16 at 4:00. Hurt Everybody have had a huge summer with the release of 2K47, a NYC debut at S.O.B.’s, sold out Lolla Aftershow with Mick Jenkins and their WGCI radio debut. I look forward to more Hurt Everybody and Alex Wiley collabs, these artists always deliver innovative music.
