Either everyone is really good at music or I’m really bad at opinion because out of the submissions I’ve received while writing here I haven’t really stumbled upon anything that didn’t grab my interest. FAETHFLEX today released the single On To Me which he dropped off to my inbox last night for feedback. I’ve been spinning it recklessly from my mail app (if you have done this before you know how annoying it is), so you know that it’s something I must absolutely dig. FAETHFLEX lists his genre as “soul trap” (reminiscent of Bryson Tiller’s TRAPSOUL), and if I had to take a shot in the dark at naming it that’d probably be what I came up with too. The airy synths, mixed with the almost hidden bass, make for a dream-like listen while the repetitive lyrics make this the perfect song for anybody that overthinks absolutely everything in a relationship.
