What is the importance of space exploration in our society?
Space exploration is so crucial. People tend to freak out about exploration, because of the endlessness of it, not to mention the risk. I think it’s a necessary risk. Sure, fending for our own as a planet is important, but the underlying questions of why we’re here in the first place are out there. I think Astronauts are some of the bravest men on Earth. Risking their lives to answer questions we could never find here. It’s one of the most noble things you can do as a resident of the planet. I want to go so bad. Someone Lance-Bass me up there.
What is time? What is Macaroni Time?
Time is a fallacy. Macaroni time is all the time.
Many Existentialist define existence as being-in-the-world or being-with-others. What do you think is the role of community, in relation to the development of one’s self?
Something I’ve learned over the past few years is that community is crucial to self-development. I used to always keep my recordings to myself; it was a very personal process. Generally speaking, it still is (the creation process, at least), but I’ve opened myself up thanks to the love, support, and feedback I’ve gotten from my inner circle and the rest of the community. We’re all just doing our own thing, but finding a community that embraces your value in whatever you do will instill more drive for you to do great work. Not to mention these people can always help inspire your work – I learn so much from my friends and peers at Vacation Pay and elsewhere that I apply to my own work. We’re all we’ve got.
Do you think trends are accelerating faster than ever ?
In a way, yes. It’s more so that the internet provides us with way more trends than we’ve ever seen, and their life spans seem significantly shorter. We have a much easier opportunity to become “bored” with a trend because we’re constantly overloaded with them. Trends used to be dictated by social hierarchy, but now-a-days, in theory, anyone with a proper internet connection can create a trend if they try hard enough. I mean, we have communities for grown ass men obsessed with My Little Pony (no disrespect to the Bronies). Literally anything can become a trend with the right audience. Shoutout JNCO Jeans, though.
How can the net amount of entropy of the universe be massively decreased?*
To be honest, it can’t, and I think that’s an amazing thing. Obviously it has it’s negative implications, but we’re ever-expanding, and entropy and absurdity is just another part of that. I love seeing and hearing about things that seem absurd because it represents progress, for better or for worse. Could you imagine how ridiculous the idea of a croakie was initially? “You want me to wear my sunglasses like a necklace? What are you, high?!” Now, boat dads all over are rocking the croakie. Progress is progress.
