“About Me” is the first single from the exciting new duo, comprised of remarkable young producer, Elias Abid, and lovely singer, Chai. It is a big and beautiful track and will be on their EP called, re:set.
“re:set” illustrates a developing relationship between two artists, CHAI & Elias Abid. What started solely as a friendship slowly grew into a more intimate relationship built upon the creation of this 5-song EP. Each track marking a different stage in their story, the EP takes you through the obstacles, doubts, excitements, and joys of falling in love.
This is my introduction to Chai, and it’s an impactful one, her words and voice convey warmth and invitation. Elias has been super productive, he recently released a self titled EP by Abandoned Mall Arcade with Jabril Power and earlier today Beach Jesus dropped “Aloe BB,” which Elias contributed to. Elias described the re:set EP, “I’d characterize the sound as like this beautiful soundscape narrating two people dancing… There are so many different dynamics in the EP – each song really has its own personality. Sonically, I think re:set falls somewhere in between electronic and neo-soul, with some house and hip-hop influences.” They’ve made something special and pure with “About Me,” I look forward to Elias & Chai sharing the rest of project with the world, we’re ready.
