Ali of New Kingz is back with another single, “Veronica Mars.” It was produced by Dougy, an exciting producer who was recently featured on Instrumental Insight at These Days. The beat starts out sounding serene while maintaining a good level of energy and provides a solid groove for Ali’s laid back singing & polished rap. Krave joins in on the smooth track.
I asked the musicians about making the song and Ali said, “Me, Dougy and Krave came up with “Veronica Mars” on the fly as we were like 20 minutes into a session. We were feeling like ‘damn. we gotta complete something tonight to drop tomorrow to stay true to the weekly drops.’ “Veronica Mars” was that & more, another one for my homies.” Dougy also had something to say about it, “Ali’s always been an artist I could listen to and hold up to the standards of artists that I look up to today… I knew we had to not only work but create some incredible music. I like what we’re doing right now because it’s coming from a very natural creative space for both of us, and it’s very supplemental to the big things that we’re working on at the moment… Specifically for “Veronica Mars” and “Shine” I’d like to just say how I feel like the weather has a big influence on these songs and I feel like they go very well with the transition from winter to spring.” Listen to both “Veronica Mars” and “Shine.” Then stay in tune with Ali, he’s got more solo work coming in addition to a soon to be released project with New Kingz.
