Weezy and Lizzy discuss Magic Fades – Ecco (Vektroid Remix)
Weezy: Wow, Vektroid and Magic Fades make a lot of sense together.
Lizzy: I hold this track dear to me, not just because I heard it for 2 months straight in my apartment as Vektroid spent sleepless nights on Ableton, but SPF420 hosted Magic Fades – Push Thru album release party. “Enemy” by Vektroid was a track that circulated on my headphones – and to know that after a mysterious disappearance, Vektroid literally Pushing Thru boundaries once more with her Ecco remix – if one could question “Where will Vektroid go from here?”, I think I would answer simply with, “FUCK YOU”, the Taka Michinoku theme. After a two year hiatus, we hear that Vektroid has refined her sound but still lives on IDGAF Island – And here goes: the obligatory mention of Floral Shoppe and Health Goth, both powerful and influential aesthetics- Magic Fades and Vektroid both do a wonderful job transcending these ideologies. It’s beautiful to hear the ‘function-over-fashion’ with both of these artists, along with their creative peers who joined alongside the Push Thru remix album – Jeremiah of The-Drum, C Plus Plus also known as a i r s p o r t s, also Persona La Ave and Karmelloz.
