It’s been a long time since we’ve heard from Waxahatchee, the project from Brooklyn-based songwriter Katie Crutchfield. Waxahatchee’s 2013 sophomore effort Cerulean Salt peaked near the top of many year-end lists with its simple and elegant composition. Today, however, is a great day for all Waxahatchee fans – Merge Records, perhaps the best small label in the world, has announced that Waxahatchee’s third studio album Ivy Tripp, is due out on April 7th. This announcement was coupled with a new track entitled “Air.” Sit back, enjoy, and bask in the simplicity. Cheers.
