Throughout 2016, with the help of Jake Clarke’s oily 3d renderings, is when we really saw the young Montreal native’s sonic and visual identity bloom, earning him support from the likes of Ekali (who he’s shared the stage with more than once in his hometown), and many more. “Discovery” still feels like a Tibe track, but it differs both in mood and art direction from his string of latest singles, leaning towards a harder and grimier sound. When asked to comment about the song, he simply replied that he “…was almost trying to make every second seem different, emphasizing lots of variation”. Ending the year with a bang, we’re curious to see where 2017 will take this producer’s sound, but I think that it’s safe to say we’re about to hear a lot more from him.
