Juttin:
In excitement for the announcement of “Boy’s Don’t Cry”, I’ve chosen one of my favorite tracks off Nostalgia Ultra; “Songs For Women”.
“We can go to my house after school
cause my dad don’t got off til late,
we can kick it in the living room looking through my whole vinyl collection
and you teach me how to slow dance or something
and imma give you chills harmonizing to Otis”
Hearing Nostalgia Ultra was really when I knew Frank Ocean was going to be a great. Tracks like “Love Crimes”, “We All Try” and “Swim Good” are still in my regular rotation, along with “Songs For Women”. It’s no doubt Frank Ocean is one of my favorite artists of all time and I can’t wait to hear his third full length project.

‘Bitch I’m lugubrious, my trap game is stupidest
You acting like I’m new to this
I been sick since the uterus
I equate your uselesness to bitches that are bootyless
Your Youtube page is viewerless, it’s humorous
Flyer than a stewardess, you pussies smell like tuna fish’
Lil Ugly Mane is problematic, sexist for sure, but too raw to disregard. RIP 2012
Mama Sims:
I chose this for Chance’s verse that comes in about 3 minutes into the song; it’s all love, loyalty and support.
“You don’t gotta fight no more
This is my war, put down your sword
Pack up, I’m strapped up, I got this, I promise
I think this is what they make back-up for
This is my score
Let me put something on the board
Your hand me down handicap, secondhand trouble
That you try to juggle
You need a hand, hand me that
I’ll hold the duffle, you shovel
I love you like blood do”

Danny Brown has been my favorite rapper in the game for quite some time now, I first came across his masterpiece “XXX” which is themed around the rappers age at the time (30 if you don’t know roman numerals) and his creepy old man like perversion. But before Brown broke through at the age of 30 he was the archetypal “struggle” rapper; dropping verses on any track he could, shooting videos left and right, with bars that were hard hitting and clever, with a delivery that had a clear sense of desperation. In the video Brown is either rapping in a kitchen with a man breaking up scrap metal or is just kind of chilling on his roof. Also he’s rocking braids and a teal button up. Danny Brown in braids is what TBT’S are all about.
