“For me, Heliocentric means to love yourself, to be the master of your own fate and to recognize that inner light that exists within yourself that makes you great.” – Sunniē Storm
Sunniē Storm released her debut Heliocentric, she put in a lot of work and it shows. I first became aware of the young artist with her single Fiyah produced by Noah Sims. A few months later 1833 premiered her first single from Heliocentric, Jodeci Record. The project is 12 tracks deep with John Scott handling much of the production. Sunnie is one of those artists that you want to see win. Her lyrics and voice display heart and emotion. In the track “Oh Ah” she sings “I know you’re tired, near depression/ I hear your heart slowing up, I’m here to do chest compressions.” She also has a lot to say in the closing track “Her Eyes Watching God.” Vocally the album is all Sunnie with Brand’Nu featuring on two tracks. The project was recorded at Classick Studios and mixed by Darwin “Darweezy” Derequito. Join Sunnie at her release party on August 7 and catch her perform at the Lyrical Ladies showcase at Schuba’s on August 5 alongside Cyn, Homme, Bernie Levv, Mel and Kaina.
