Sufjan Stevens’ latest album, Carrie & Lowell, is ripe with nostalgia as much as it is with calm melodies. Today, however, the singer brings us a slight departure from the soft tones of the bulk of his previous work. We live in a world where Sufjan can, musically, do whatever he wants, and every day I’m happier about that than I was the day before.
