Speaking of ear worms, Big Leano’s refrain “I got lean for sale, straight codeine for sale” is the simplest, most catchy hook I’ve heard since Rae Sremmurd’s breakout, “No Flex Zone”. Don’t get it twisted, this isn’t yet another New ATL buzz rapper that’s gonna be here today and gone tomorrow. Rather, this is the future of east coast, and more specifically, Boston hip-hop, and it’s got a new trap flare. Along with Cousin Stizz, Michael Christmas, and Jefe Replay, expect big things from these new Boston artists, and with New York really dropping the ball as of late, Massachusetts is more than willing to help pick up the slack.
