“And I ain’t never been high like this before
And I ain’t never lived life like this before.”
At last, Chicago’s Westside rapper, Roosevelt The Titan, has unleashed his first project, I Hate Being High. The EP premiered via These Days News with an impactful interview that gives you a glimpse inside the head of the Titan. The project is 9 tracks in length, all Rose – no features, and the only previous release was the single, “Bugatti.” He enlisted producers Noah Sims and Glassic, who he has worked with throughout his career, and got additional production from Send Help, Pirooz, and made his debut as a beatmaker for one of my fav tracks on the EP, “Held Hope.” Roosevelt is a unique and powerful rapper, both lyrically and tonally. IHBH shows various moods and vibes, while his vision is cohesive and urgent, his distinct, intense voice cuts through everything. Some additional stand out tracks for me are, “Masonry,” “Rebellion” and “Bloom.” I was at Rose’s first professional studio session at Classick Studios back in 2013, it’s gratifying to see him release this project and to have watched his artistic growth so closely over the years. Get to know Kronos rep, Roosevelt The Titan, in a more complete way with his debut project, I Hate Being High.
