“I’m still that rapper that your favorite rapper scared to rap after”
“Hard To Choose” is one of my favorite tracks on Rapsody’s Beauty and the Beast album and it’s visual directed by Kent Willard just premiered on Revolt TV. In the video you see mostly young girls viewing images on screens, both positive and negative, illustrating various choices and possible directions. OkayPlayer said the cinematic video “expounds on the litany of violent imagery we are exposed to in mainstream media and precisely how attached we are to them. It’s a thoughtful and poignant meditation on how those images shape a young mind, beautifully presented in the visual, starring Lola Lowe.” Rapsody’s lyrics are always substantial and she makes herself and her intentions very clear on the 9th Wonder produced “Hard To Choose.”
“No love lost for whites, Latinos and the Asians
Loyal to all, but when I look at these black girl’s faces
I understand why I chose to be better, not basic
So it’s not, not hard to choose”
