Music is always better when you’re able to place yourself into an artist’s soundscape and live the story they’re telling through their eyes. Lewis Grant is an artist that appeals to me because I simply delusionally believe that his music is about my life – over-questioning failed relationships and romantic endeavors leading to loneliness. Lewis once said to me that he believes depression and loneliness has become more and more attractive due to the fact that we’re literally only the click of a button away from connecting with thousands and thousands of people. Today, we are honored to premiere his latest release alongside Parisian producer NxxxxxS – Look At The Time. NxxxxS has done well for himself – in 2013 his debut Hydrowaves causing The Flatbush Zombies to dub him one of their favorite producers, and since he has caught the attention of i-D Magazine and Boiler Room to name a few. The two blend their respective styles beautifully as Lewis again brings me to the brink of tears painting a vivid journey of a hopeless romantic. These two were able to convene for this collaboration – via the internet – bouncing ideas back and forth over the pond, and what came of it is something that I hope we’re in store for more of. As the kids are saying – What a time to be alive.
