SEER and Jommis, of Beach Jesus, released their tag-team side project’s, Natural State, debut album today entitled Natural State. Jommis, one of the main vocalists in Beach Jesus (along with Chandler London), heads up most of the vocals on the project with producer SEER stepping in a times to lend his voice. The project is much darker than Two Weeks Vacaton, with lots of heavy synths and industrial feeling throughout.
I’m really fucking with the sound and the mood of this project. Jommis’ lyrics always seem to strike me in a type of way that makes me really understand the picture he is trying to paint with his references and sometimes obscure comparisons. SEER absolutely murders the production throughout the whole album, throwing in tons of twists and turns as well as many high and low points. My early favorites are “Hot Summer”, “Internet”, and “Thirsty”. If you’re a fan of Beach Jesus but are looking for something a bit more intense, Natural State is JUST for you.
