I had actually never listened to a Mr. Carmack song until “oye como va”. I was pleasantly surprised with this beautiful arrangement of a piano and what sounds like a well chopped old drum break; he clearly has soul. The sample is chopped up into multiple parts and progressions that genuinely sound like something from a prime J. Dilla. I definitely have to go check out the rest of his discography because this is one of the smoothest joints i’ve encountered all month.
