Dear Lizzy,
What’s the secret to a strong and consistent social media brand?
-Danny
Having an aesthetic that is universal to your brand is a vital “member” to your social branding. There really is no secret other than sticking to your aesthetic and updating your brand 1-2 times a year. When I feel that it’s time to “refine” my current aesthetic, I start researching things on places like Wikipedia, or sites that interest me. I meddle on what I read for a while and then I create new aesthetics (that’s MY secret!). Always remember that image and word association go hand-in-hand. A consistent social media brand also entails your time and dedication to the brand. Always make sure you are connected – social media like Facebook and Twitter are great examples of ways to stay connected with your online audience. For platforms like SoundCloud, I recommend utilizing different album art for each single that you release. This will add variety while also expanding on your brand and aesthetics. Danny, just by cohesively sticking to aesthetics and updating semi-annually, you can have a strong internet presence. All it takes is some elbow grease and some thought as to how you want to represent yourself.
Take it from me! All I think about is aesthetics. For more advice and tips from Lizzy, e-mail liz@spf420.com
