“Can you see it in my face?
Had enough for today.
It’s hard for me to to stay in place unless I force myself awake.”
Blood Orange or Dev Hynes just released one of his best songs to date with “Sandra’s Smile”. Sticking with his signature NYC dream RnB, Hynes adds a bit of modern rap production into “Sandra’s Smile” and has truly created something special. The music video illustrates the vibe of the song very well, also. Taking place on the streets of New York City, Hynes struts down familiar-looking city blocks with a retro swagger that’s hard to imitate. Shot by Jack Pearce and directed/edited by Hynes himself, the black and white video includes lots of dancing and long, continuous shots, as well as tons of beautiful, alternative looking people. I have a feeling everyone will be pretty hooked on “Sandra’s Smile” real soon.
