AUDMONSTERS‘ got a new summer compilation out and if you’ve never gotten acquainted with ’em, Rascal Beach is the perfect way to get familiar with the AUDMONSTERS crew.
The first thing to know about AUDMONSTERS is that they’re all furries. At least I’m pretty sure they are. Like I know for a fact 70% of them are indeed furries and I’m pretty sure about the remaining 30%. Again, what’s with musicians and being furries? If you’re wondering whether or not this will be a persistent theme in my writing, you’re pretty much right. Furries everywhere, man.
The second thing to know about AUDMONSTERS is that a lot of the crew’s been well known for pushing the online scene before they came together for their own netlabel. Showrunner Milk Puzzle‘s always had a perchance for strange, 90’s cartoons-inspired neuro-hardcore fusion and Trent‘s brought a revival for brash dancecore & happy speedcore. These are primetime-ready talent who’s been hanging out a few feet away from the limelight and listening to them is like finding a diamond in the the wastebin at a coal mine.
The third thing to know is that AUDMONSTERS is friggin everywhere in their reach. Milk Puzzle’s alias bあshful brings cutesy minimalist toypop, Mazza opens the comp with some incredibly smooth liquid dnb, K.O. comes in with a chippunk track that reminds me of what I Fight Dragons did a few years back mixed in with a bit of the hooks from The Deprecation Guild, and Trent finishes off with their signature blend of ’09 era dancecore and festival trap, just to name a small bit of the journey taken on this comp.
The fourth thing to know is that you gotta grab this album right now.
If you need more AUDMONSTERS their first compilation release is a good start.
