In the world of independent music, there are few things more enigmatic than 4AD’s Ariel Pink. The Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist’s previous album, Mature Themes, was certainly one of the most interesting listening experiences of 2012, and while pom pom is still a little out of left field, it’s oddly more accessible than anything I’ve heard from Pink so far.
