With the energized track “Castles,” singer/rapper Appleby gives us new fire. It’s the first single from his upcoming Down Dance EP, a project produced entirely by Elias Abid. This mysterious man has chops, he transitions effortlessly from raps to singing, while telling a tale of kings and queens imbued with the heart that you will always hear in his music, it’s a quality that has made Appleby one of the most fascinating singers brewing in the Midwest. His producer Elias Abid has been on our radar since early 2015 for his versatile music making (just check his soundcloud), sincerity and skill. These two are a team to watch in the near future. I asked App about the collaboration, he said, “The man joined me in LA just three days after joking about it on the phone. Only real ones do that! The EP and our brand of music, Down Dance, is a product of our experience during our time in California.” I’ve been fortunate enough to hear a bit more of what they’ve got cooking at Classick Studios, and you’re in for a treat.
