“I shouted across the table but it was loud and you were wasted and I’m not sure you could hear
I guess I’ll write you a letter and I can tell you how I fade into the floor when you’re near”
Californian singer & guitarist Miya Folick’s latest “I Got Drunk” premiered on HillyDilly and is my introduction to this beautiful artist. “I Got Drunk” is a relatable and honest song. It reminds me of the year I lived in L.A., the feel of the song screams California to me. Miya is 25 and promises more singles in the coming months. Her catalog is well worth listening to. I highly recommend her previous release, “Talking With Strangers” which you can stream below.
“Half of my brain was totally afraid that she’d hate me
Never want to see me again
Half of my brain was equally afraid that she’d like me
Want to be my friend
I, learning to love
I, learning to let myself be loved
How did I miss this lesson when I was young?”
