Firstly, What is thraxx to you? (What does it mean for you to be a piece of the movement, what do you guys hope to accomplish, what brought you together)
YB: Thraxx means to me? Damn? it means like “killer” like the dopest dope. Like we’re rare and dope. Like we are always killing shit. IDK I guess the OG’s (Mackned & Key) seen something in all of us. We’re here because of them. True OG blessings.
Give us your brief commentary on the state of hip hop these days (drake – love him or hate him, kendrick lamar is he a douche, goth money records what’s up with them)
YB: Hip hop is jumping man. I am really happy we exist in this time.
As far as Drake…man, Its like this, get a cosign by Drake- and youre fucking on!! Drake do a remix with my nigga FACES. Lets get this money. An GOTH MONEY goes in man. Kray is the standout for me.
What do you as an individual bring to thraxx house that no one else does?
YB: I guess I feel like I bring nothing that all my other Thraxx producers can’t bring. We are all on some weirdo shit, plus we bring the bangs. Thats all I intend to bring to Thraxxhouse, forward-thinking-weirdo-bangers.
What sources of inspiration do you draw from for your production work (be creative! tv shows, movies, visual art, music, articles, books it all affects us)
YB: Now this is always different. I get inspired by the fucking air we breathe, by a car with hydraulics, drugs I don’t do, laying in bed with my girl on an overcast day, and lastly Chiraq.
