I am going to use this post as an opportunity to mansplain something to you. I am sure you have been in the club before and thought “I don’t think this song is very club.” Chances are you were right, but how can you know for sure? I use this simple metric, picture a generic movie scene that involves people ingesting drugs nasally in some sort of neon fugue-state. If the song fits well with this mental image, it is very club and it probably slaps. If the song feels forced and out of place, it is not very club. Drugs are dumb but people do them in clubs all the time so it’s a very reliable metric for judging songs.
