Still hot off his outer-space Cadillactica mission last year, Big K.R.I.T. has dropped the surprise mixtape, It’s Better This Way, via DatPiff. It’s also chalk full of features with BJ The Chicago Kid, Warren G, Ludacris and Young Dolph, among others.
This one is quality, too, in terms of both lyricism and production, especially the silky smooth “No Static”, and the southern-fried meets dub production of “Shakem Off.”
And while Cadillactica’s philosophizing about sub-bass may be tough to follow, K.R.I.T. closes the album with the declaration, “You don’t really like what they play on the radio every single day/ It’s better this way.” It’s hard to argue with that, especially when you release a free/surprise mixtape this solid.
