I have to admit, it’s taken me probably far too long to warm up to Montreal duo Majical Cloudz. Devon Welsh’s presence as a singer definitely scared me at first, but I’ve learned to embrace his serial killer-like persona and realize how amazing of a writer and singer he really is. On “Are You Alone”, Cloudz switches it up a bit for a rather uplifting song, while maintaining to keep the landscape of their music rather dreary. Their upcoming album, Are You Alone, hit stores October 16th via Matador Records. I’ll definitely be revisiting their previous album, 2013’s Impersonator, before their sophomore album drops.
