Tragedy has the ability to influence incredible art. Given the events that took place in Baltimore earlier this year, it’s easy to see why the city’s creatives are pissed off. Witty Rock‘s opening bar, on his latest release Non Essential, perfectly represents the attitude of the entire community:
“first off let me start with a little disclaimer/ this shit was written with a little pissed anger”
There are an incredible amount of quote-able lyrics, with production assistance from Scott Sauce (amazing name), that I will probably be tweeting for the next few weeks as if I were really running from police and stealing people’s women. If you haven’t gotten the gist yet, you should by now – Witty, and the city that harbors the best crab cakes in the world, are a problem.
