“Hate to lose, love to win
Hate to pray, love to sin
Love to move, I hate to stay
Hold up, I’ll be on my way”
Noah Sims and BanksTheGenius linked up for their first collaborative single, “NineOne.” They co-produced, BanksTheGenius handles the verses and we hear some vocals by Sims in the intro. Banks was born in ’91, stated here as “NineOne,” and the song is about how he’s been holding it down ever since. There is some real beauty to it with a hazy sounding melody and crisp, warm percussion. The lyrics are meaningful and speak of perseverance. BanksTheGenius is a DIY king and also recorded and mixed the track. They told me that the single came together very naturally and I hope that we hear more music from the pair in the future.
Both of these artists have been putting in quality work, I’m still listening to BanksTheGenius’ recent track, “Pressure.” Noah Sims’ debut project, Testament, is releasing within a few weeks, “She Gets The Best Of Us,” is the latest single from his project. Banks & Noah are performing alongside SoloSam and Roosevelt The Titan at Conway Center for Columbia Music Collective’s debut show on December 2, free entry with the donation of canned goods. Listen to Noah Sims & BanksTheGenius win in the soulful “NineOne.”
