This interview with Chindamo is a potpourri of cute, existential, and normal questions.
So, how do you create meaningful experiences in your life?
By making music, listening to music, and going on walks. That’s pretty much it. I don’t do a whole lot else in my life at all. Making music and creating something that I actually like is the most meaningful thing I feel like I can do currently.
Are you afraid that everything will happen?
I don’t know what this really means, but no. Everything’s gonna happen anyway. It’s inevitable. What is to come is unknown, but its occurrence is definite. Might as well not fear what can’t be changed.
What’s the deal with abstract concepts?
They really make people think, like questions, which just so happen to be conceptually abstract as well, I think.
What are some of your favorite emojis?
Tbh I don’t use a lot of emojis but since I have to pick, I’d say: :disappointed_relieved: :crocodile: :earth_asia: :cloud: :snowflake: :money_with_wings: :computer:
Who was your first celebrity crush?
Strangely enough, I’ve never had one. Sorry. I’m boring.
Who is the best dog (in your opinion)?
I guess I’m obligated to say my own. She’s fat and dumb but nice.
What drew you to making music?
I got into it when I wanted to make dubstep back in 2012, but I wouldn’t say I really started making a lot of music until about summer of 2013. At the time, I was listening to groups like Team Supreme and Wedidit. They really inspired me. As of late I’ve been listening to lots of very ambient, droney, slow styles of music. I don’t really want to be a producer who travels around playing shows for a living, so when I graduate high school I really just wanna move far away, work a job that I enjoy, and make lots of music whenever I’m not working. If I can make money off of music too, that would be awesome.
Whats the most meaningful interaction you’ve had with a fellow musician?
Definitely SXSW this year. It’s the first time I’ve ever met any fellow musicians IRL. Getting to hang out with people like Yoshi, Stone, Good Intent, Buji, and lots of others that I know from the internet is awesome. It’s really a lot more meaningful than talking to someone online forever. That’s great and all, but meeting someone in person is REALLY great. Meeting Ryan Hemsworth was especially cool because he’s someone who has had a major impact on my musical “career,” and he’s just a genuinely kind human being.
What are your top 3 songs of 2015 thus far?
uhhhhhh…
Thanks for the questions!
