9 times out of 10 I’ll quickly dismiss any and everything titled “Kanye West cover”. It’s like Led Zepplin or Tracy Chapman for me – if you can’t do as well, or at least add a new sound to an already preexisting record, then just don’t do it. Glass Animals comes in as the aforementioned 10% with their cover of Kanye West‘s Love Lockdown that they released today. The English rockstars add a much more upbeat vibe to an extremely depressing original. This is one of my favorite Kanye records of all time, and I now respect Glass Animals all the more that they could pull off such a cover adding their own sound but not butchering the original.
