Are you afraid that everything will happen?
In the words of horse_ebooks: “”everything happens so much”, I find it exciting more than anything else. Murphy’s law says that everything that can happen will, if you accept that it seems a lot easier. Also, Nietzsche, for example, believes in eternal recurrence, so if we go with that, everything has already happened and will continue to do so, forever.
How do you manage ennui?
well, there are 2 sorts of ennui. situational and existential. I am currently stuck in a small town, with a small town mentality, completely opposed to my own, so I mostly find myself in the former situation, the most easy to cope of the two. Having a goal makes this manageable, music has made mine less overwhelming. though some may argue existential ennui is just situational ennui on a larger scale, we’re all pushing towards the same destination : death, thats the beauty of it, it gives meaning to our actions.
Is there moral goodness, what is goodness to you?
The potential greatness of our generation and the past century is that we are some of the first people to be able answer this question, truthfully. Now the glaring eyes of religion no longer look upon the western world so much, we can start to adapt morality to our new ways of life. Generally speaking I believe what is mostly considered good is what feels right without negative consequences on one’s self and others. In that sense we do live in a rather hedonistic world..…
