Over the weekend, two remixes surfaced for The Weeknd’s brooding ode to smarmy drug-love, “The Hills.” As the song has become an unlikely radio super-hit, the duo of Nicki Minaj and Eminem save what is one of the better songs off Beauty Behind The Madness from ubiquity, and boy do they deliver on their respective verses.
Nicki delivers one biting verse, opening up with the ever seductive couplet, “Remember that time I showed up with just panties under my coat?/ High heels, they was knee high, and my legs was grippin’ that throat.” It gets better from there, complete with a Joe Biden shoutout and some clever wordplay. Eminem’s remix sees him revert back to Relapse territory, with two fired-up verses about a drug-fueled love affair.
