Young Sherpa’s growth is evident on their latest single, “Dreamcast.” The track premiered via Bluntiq and reunites emcee X-ray with Chicago’s Anak1n and Norwegian singer Lenner Slett, this group previously released “Fantasy-Scape” which introduced me to the beautiful voice of Lenner. The rappers approach Sherpa producer Tom Fertch’s atmospheric, dreamy production with energy and drive, Slett’s hook blends perfectly with Tom’s composition. Anak1n just killed a set in Iowa City opening for Vince Staples, and his recent Wish Wisely project is still in rotation and worthy of your attention. Sherpa are doing things right and with a spirit of inclusion, they’ve built Kronos Studios which is already a creative destination on the North Side, their collective continues to expand and I see big things coming from the duo of X-ray and Tom.
