Dylan Brady has had his hands all over some of my favorite compositions in the past year. From his work with his supergroup HELLA to this latest full-length release from songstress Saputo, Brady can do no wrong. King’s Queen is a visceral listening experience that will take you to the deepest, darkest depths of human emotion, or it could make you do nothing but smile because of how transcendentally beautiful it is – I’ve experienced both. Some personal favorites for me are Saputo’s rendition of Dazed & Confused, Take You There – which sounds like it should be played everywhere for the rest of humanity’s existence, Hummin – which is capable of making your blood curdle in a good way, and the effervescent Amazing Grace (featuring Jess Grommet). Dylan has done nothing but raise eyebrows and create waves for his friends to ride along on with him to wherever it is his talents carry him.
