Psalm One Loves You, and we love her back. She just premiered her latest album, P.O.L.Y., via Complex, it is 10 songs in length, all delivered with heart. The album is warm and dense with her rich rhymes and vivid production throughout by Drew Mantia, Keith Myka Greene, Wes P. and The Arcitype.
P.O.L.Y. opens with the stunning “Secrets/No Waiting,” which was produced by The O’My’s with drums by oddCouple. Psalm One aka Hologram Kizzie starts out singing and The Rapper Chicks (WhoIsFluffy? and Angelenah) join in with gorgeous additional vocals. Psalm One, the Rhymesayers affiliate, shows her versatility on this project, from hard hitting to subtle and playful, she’s at her best on P.O.L.Y.. A couple more of my favorite tracks are “Maybe Never'” featuring My Gold Mask and “Hella Sad” with Maceo Haymes and The O’My’s. Kyle Miller adds trumpet to “KissyFace.” All of the interludes are by Ethan Stoller. She is currently on tour with The Rapper Chicks and The Palmer Squares.
