This morning, London MC Jay Prince dropped his debut mixtape BeFore Our Time. Prince picked up a considerable amount of buzz after dropping his debut single “Polaroids” in August of last year as well as “Feel It” featuring IAMNOBODI in October. I’m not usually one to throw comparisons but after the first 3 complete listens, BeFore Our Time is really reminding me of Kendrick Lamar’s Section.80 mixtape from years back. Prince’s chorus melodies share a similar tone, as well as much of his content. His London background brings in a RnB style extremely popular right now, too. I’m excited to see where this guy is going to take himself as much as I am to get this into my regular rotation.
