Grindhouse producer iLLeeT takes us back to the decade of America musical innovation, psychedelics and political revolution with his High 70s EP released via Mishka. I’ve been looking forward to this since hearing his single “Early” with Vic Spencer. The 10 track EP sounds and feels great, I loved hearing Joni Mitchell sampled in such a contemporary way. ILLeeT brought in Doc Da Minda for “No Longer.” ILLeeT talked to Ben of Mishka and said “Ever since I started making beats, I got heavy into music from the 60s and 70s. Soul, psychedelic rock, classic rock. I sampled so much from that era and never really put the beats out there so that’s how High70s came about.” Listen and enjoy the trip.
