If you’re reading this (it’s NOT too late), it’s probably safe to assume that you’re a member of the generation that grew up on the Rush Hour triology. Flash Giordani and JuegoTheNinety come correct with a 4 track EP that is a lot like what would’ve happened had Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker ran with their “W.A.R.” rendition and produced a full album. While the aesthetic for He’s Asian, I’m Black seems to be nothing but unmitigated comedy, Flash & Juego trade some very emotional, and sometimes graphic (reminiscent of the real Eminem that we all miss), bars over some extremely out-of-the-ordinary production. The only included feature is from fellow Baltimore native Black Zheep DZ on Hot Coffee, the playful, bouncy lead single which we are told will have an accompanying video coming soon. HAIB has built a solid, organic buzz for itself after premiering on Pigeons & Planes and being picked up all the way across the pond by DJ Semtex. These kids are quickly showing that a little bit of creativity, and nostalgic influence, can start to open some eyes.
