Femdot and lasko premiered inSIGHT today via Mishka. It is six tracks deep and includes lovely vocal features by Akenya and Aaliyah Allah who contribute greatly to the vibe of the project. lasko described inSIGHT as “Fem is telling a bunch of stories in his verses and is letting the listener into parts of his life. On the production side of things it’s a blend of my old school sounding instrumentals and my newer stuff that’s yet to be released. Like with most my instrumentals that I put out, they are stories as well.”
The EP opens with “No Drama,” the beat sounded familiar to me as I listened to it several times as the instrumental “Sprite” on W3NDCH3LL: Soul, Femdot adds a lot to it with his smart rhymes. The continued collaboration of Femdot and lasko makes for a very cohesive sounding project. Femdot is on all tracks except for “Ode To Seba Jun” which is solely Akenya scatting beautifully over lasko’s jazzy music. Femdot has bars and I really like his chill style delivery. He and Aaliyah Allah sound great together on “Day To Day,” one of my fav tracks on the project. Listen to inSIGHT all the way through and stay aware of both Femdot and lasko who promise more individual work coming soon.
