It seems that artists who are well versed in multiple styles/genres/eras of music are the ones who are the most modest about their endeavors. Knowing that there is still so much for you to learn and explore brings about a certain humility from an artist which births a listener over a talker, but when that person does speak there is a force that comes with it. Emmanuel Egwu (aka Equator Club) seems to create with a grace that is so direct, it’s hard not to wonder exactly what he’s got playing in his headphones at all times. There are elements within his Infinity EP that you can tell stem from much more then listening to producers, he’s brought nuances from world music, to pop, to jazz and lets you really find rhythms that continuously show his attention to detail. He doesn’t mask any doubts on this EP, Emmanual came out confidently swinging and showing his worth in the dance world. Infinity EP is one I’ve listened to already 3 times today and I think most people will be doing the same.
