The Feminist movement quite possibly has a new spokeswoman in the artist known as Destiny (formerly Princess Nokia), and she makes a strong case to be just that with her album Honeysuckle. I don’t know too much about Destiny other than she has an incredibly soulful voice, an extremely conscious & relevant message, and the utmost conviction in her delivery. It’s safe to say that after soaking in Honeysuckle – which is a blend of disco, folk, blues, and soul all resulting in a buoyant impact – this nostalgic, message-driven project has me sifting through Destiny‘s previous work to hear more.
