As if Red Bull’s 20 before 15 couldn’t get any better (after an impressive collaborate release from Chicago’s Lil Herb and Odd Future’s Earl Sweatshirt), late last night the first new D’Angelo song surfaced presumably from his upcoming album “Black Messiah”, which “supposedly” comes out on Tuesday. Given D’Angelo’s history with commitment and his tiffs with the music business as whole, I’m holding my breath ’til Tuesday. But I can’t lie and say I’m not incredibly excited.
As for the song? Fucking listen to it yourself and tell me that isn’t one of the best songs of 2015. Please. I would love to debate this with you. I heard this song while walking home last night and danced the rest of the way because of it. No, really.
