So I came across Spanish born producer Crisopa (born Santiago Lizón Martínez) only a few days ago but was immediately hooked after hearing these two tracks. My taste usually gears more towards ambient bands or producers that draw out songs into sort of a meditational state and Crisopa captures the essence of grandiose minimalism perfectly. His tracks aren’t overly layered like a lot of the beat scene today but basically capture a simple melody that feels like you’re floating on top of the ocean under moonlight. When the weather starts changing in Chicago I tend to stay slightly removed from the aggressiveness of the tunes that were hot in the summer and thankfully, I discovered this man.
